MMiP Publishing House supports reading together with the Universal Reading Foundation

MMiP Publishing House supports the promotion of reading. From February, one złoty from each sold copy of a book from the series "Przygody psa Precla" will support the activities carried out by the Universal Reading Foundation.

Let's be the change that the world desires - this is the slogan of the MMiP publishing house founded by Mateusz Rus and Marta Maj, author of children's books about the adventures of the dog Precla, devoted to teaching proper behavior towards animals. The Universal Reading Foundation has been convincing for several years that it is reading that changes the world for the better. The convergence of goals and the mission of promoting reading and proper values among the youngest have combined the activities of the publishing house and the foundation. Thanks to the established cooperation, 1 złoty from the sale of each copy of "Adventures of the Dog Precla" will be donated to the FPC and the implementation of its statutory goals.

We are very happy with our cooperation for the sake of reading. MMiP Publishing House is another one that has decided to support FPC in its mission. Such involvement is an expression of great responsibility, an incredible example and a reason to be proud, especially when it concerns smaller, although it should be emphasized - very ambitious - publishers. – says Maria Deskur, president of the Foundation.

The MMiP publishing house undertakes very important activities aimed at children – it conducts workshops around books, the aim of which, apart from promoting reading, is also education on how to deal with a quadruped, but also teaching sensitivity and empathy. What is very important, the owners organize classes throughout Poland, reaching not only the largest cities, but also kindergartens, schools and libraries in smaller towns and villages.

We want our stories to reach every young reader, regardless of where they live. We often hear that we are one of the few people who want to come to a meeting in a given place. For us, however, this is not a problem, but an opportunity. The books we have published touch on very important issues, raise awareness and sensitivity to the needs of others. Just like the Universal Reading Foundation, we want to help children discover their passions and better understand the world. – says Mateusz Rus, co-owner of the MMiP publishing house.

The titular dog named Precel really exists and it was he who became the reason for publishing the educational series. Precel often accompanies the author during meetings with readers. Reports from events and travels around Poland can also be followed on the publisher's social media profiles. The series is aimed at children of preschool and early school age. Its educational value also includes tips on how to deal with your own emotions, e.g. fear of visiting a doctor. The author indicates the desire to strengthen sensitivity and convince readers that it is worth taking care of yourself, other people, but also animals..

The series about the adventures of Precl was created with the idea of supporting children's interests, arousing their curiosity, while at the same time emphasizing the pleasure that reading gives. Cooperation with the Universal Reading Foundation, which promotes valuable children's literature, is very important to us. We are glad that being part of the book industry, we can support reading among the youngest – comments Marta Maj, author of the series, part of the sales income of which also supports the Iłża Society for the Care of Animals Azyl. So far, the series has published the following titles: “Precel overcomes fear”, “Precel discovers a new home”, “Precel goes for a walk”, “Precel and new colleagues”. During the year of its activity, the MMiP Publishing House has sold over 7,000 books and met over 10,000 young readers. The premiere of the next part, “Precel cares for health”, is planned for February 12.

Encouraging children to read, which is a value in itself and goes hand in hand with shaping the right attitudes, is a great initiative. We are happy with the cooperation we have undertaken and even more so with the fact that new partners see great sense in supporting reading and actively engaging in the promotion of reading. – summarizes Katarzyna Konopka, board member of the Universal Reading Foundation.

The Universal Reading Foundation has been working since 2018 to raise the level of reading in Poland, treating non-reading as a social problem. The organization aims to equalize educational opportunities, and regular contact with books has a huge impact on this! FPC is the only Polish organization awarded the Library of Congress Literacy Award by the United States Library of Congress for outstanding achievements in the field of popularizing reading.
