Information on the processing of personal data by the Universal Reading Foundation

The Powszechnego Czytania Foundation, with its registered office in Warsaw, at ul. Przyokopowa 33 (01-208), entered into the National Court Register under number 0000756841 (hereinafter also referred to as "FPC"), in connection with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC ("GDPR"), informs about the principles and conditions of processing of personal data provided to FPC by you:

2. The scope of personal data processed and the circumstances of obtaining them from you

You provided us with your personal data in connection with subscribing to the Powszechnego Czytania Foundation newsletter.

The scope of personal data provided by you and processed by us includes: e-mail.
Providing personal data is not a statutory or contractual requirement. You are not obliged to provide data, although it is necessary to participate in selected campaigns, then these rules are specified in separate regulations.

3. Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website address in cookies so that when you leave a subsequent comment you will have this information filled in conveniently. These cookies expire after a year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen options choices. Login cookies expire after two days, and screen options cookies expire after a year. If you select "Remember me," your login will expire after two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

4. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the user had visited that website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

5. What is the purpose, legal basis and principles of processing your personal data?

Your personal data are processed because the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, as well as for the fulfilment of a legal obligation incumbent on the controller - the processing of personal data is therefore carried out on the basis of Article 6 paragraph 1 letters b) and c) of the GDPR.
The processing of personal data will consist in particular in collecting, recording, organizing, sorting and storing them.

6. To whom can FPC transfer personal data?

Personal data may be transferred to the following categories of recipients: entities providing FPC with services necessary to implement the above-mentioned purpose of data processing, including subcontractors in the field of pursuing claims or defending against claims.

7. How long will your data be processed?

If you leave a comment, its content and metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve subsequent comments automatically without sending them to moderation every time.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their profile. Each user can view, correct, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be changed). Site administrators can also view and modify this information.

8. What rights do you have in relation to your personal data?

You have the right to request the rectification of data, access to data, deletion of data, restriction of data processing and transfer of data provided to FPC.

You have the right to object to the processing of your data by FPC based on the legitimate interest of the controller or a third party for reasons related to your particular situation.

The above requests and other correspondence concerning personal data should be submitted in the manner indicated in point 1 above.

9. Where can I file a complaint regarding the processing of personal data?

You may submit a complaint regarding the processing of personal data to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
