We invite schools, libraries and support centers hosting refugee children from Ukraine to apply for free books.
Each package contains 50 books used in English, 10 books in Ukrainian and the Ukrainian edition of the brick book "The World is Beautiful. A Book Against War".
The books in English were provided by the International Book Project, the books in Ukrainian are a gift from Ukrainian publishers.
The brick book was created thanks to the involvement of Polish writers and illustrators.
Please apply by e-mail to: monika.skora@fpc.org.pl, providing the exact address of the facility, the name and surname of the person responsible for accepting the shipment and the telephone number for the courier.
The books will be sent in cooperation with Nowa Era Publishing House, the order of applications decides, the number of packages is limited.

We donate books to schools and libraries
Together with the Polish Section of IBBY, we invite you to act together! We are raising money to provide books to excluded children who do not have them.
Support the #KsiążkaChroni collection! Every 20$ is a package of books for children with refugee experience, children in orphanages and social welfare centers.
Let's give children a chance and make sure that books reach those in need! Download and print the poster, hang it in your library, school and everywhere where reading is important!

Support for children and publishers from Ukraine
The Universal Reading Foundation has been involved in helping children and the publishing industry in Ukraine since the beginning of the war. Much has been accomplished, but the enormity of the needs remains immeasurable.
Now is the time to build further long-term and strategically thought-out support, which is and will continue to be extremely needed. Every contribution means another book that reaches children and real help for publishers from Ukraine.

The Universal Reading Foundation launched the “Book Protects” campaign immediately after the war in Ukraine broke out. Many people and companies in Poland and around the world got involved in the project. Publishers from Ukraine did not disappoint either, rushing to provide books for Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

We have prepared materials especially for families from Ukraine who have recently arrived in Poland. Book Superpowers. We will be distributing them along with the children's books we received as part of our fundraiser.

Results of the #BookProtects competition
for granting financing to book publishers from Ukraine under the honorary patronage of the Wife of the President of the Republic of Poland
The grant system was announced on May 3rd this year on the website of the Universal Reading Foundation. Over 50 publishers from Ukraine applied for the competition. The competition committee evaluating the applications, consisting of persons delegated by the Universal Reading Foundation, the Polish Chamber of Books, the Ukrainian Chamber of Books and the Krakow Festival Office, awarded subsidies to 51 publishers from Ukraine who met the individual criteria included in the Competition Rules.

In solidarity with Ukraine
#KsiążkaProtects: Family reading reduces stress, stabilizes emotions, helps work through trauma, supports bonds. Introducing routine, daily regular reading builds a sense of security.
That's why children from Ukraine should get books! Preferably in Ukrainian.
Since the beginning of the war, we have been running a campaign aimed at providing books to Ukrainian children in Poland and supporting Ukrainian publishers.
We have already acquired thousands of books and are distributing them to refugee children.
Our campaign was supported by famous illustrators and authors of children's books.

The call for applications for grants for Ukrainian publishers begins
USD 150,000 will be given to Ukrainian publishers as part of the aid subsidy. Companies from the publishing industry without Russian capital, operating on the market for at least five years and having published at least fifty books, can apply for the subsidy.
Please send the completed application form with Annex No. 1 to grants@fpc.org.pl by May 19, 2022. The competition results will be announced on June 6, 2022.
